New Delhi: The Patiala House Court of Delhi has handed over 22-year-old Bangalore-based climate activist Disha Ravi to the Delhi Police on five days remand. He was arrested on Saturday in the toolkit case. Earlier, Delhi Police had registered FIR number 49/21 against the toolkit's editors for the criminal conspiracy. Disha Ravi has been accused that he has edited a toolkit created in support of the farmer movement and shared it on social media. This is the same toolkit socialized by Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg. Delhi Police has tweeted that Disha Ravi is the editor of that toolkit and is the main conspiracy to prepare that document and share it on social media.

What is a toolkit?

A "toolkit" is a Google document designed to explain any issue. It gives information about what should be done to solve a problem. That is, action points are recorded in it. This is called the toolkit. It is used in the context of social media, in which information on social media, in addition to the campaign strategy, is related to mass demonstration or agitation in real terms. This may include information about petitions, protests and mass movements lodged on any issue.

Whatever movements are taking place in different parts of the world in the present era, whether it is 'Black Lives Matter', or America's 'Anti-Lockdown Protest' or 'Climate Strike Campaign' around the world, in all cases People associated with the movements create 'action points' through the toolkit, and carry forward the movements.

Greta Thunberg's connection to the toolkit?

In this case, climate activist Greta Thanberg first socialized on Twitter on February 3, a toolkit related to the farmers' movement. However, it was later deleted. In it Greta wrote, "If you want to help farmers, you can take help of this toolkit (document)." After this, on February 4, Greta again shared the toolkit and wrote, "This is a new toolkit created by people who are currently working on land in India. Through this you can help them if you want."
