- OVERVIEW | In order to facilitate the students of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class categories to study in major cities of Gujarat, Samaras Hostel Scheme has been launched by the State government
- OBJECTIVE | Construction of Mega Samras Hostels in six major cities to provide residential facilities for students of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes.
- GEOGRAPHICAL FOOTPRINTS | Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, Anand and Rajkot
- INTENDED BENEFICIARIES | About 12,000 ST students
- CAPACITY | Capacity would be of 2000 students per hostel
- BENEFITS UNDER THE SCHEME | Equipped with state-of-art facilities.
- FINANCIAL PROVISION | Government has, in principle, sanctioned Rs. 628 crore for construction of these hostels.
