Aadhar card is not mandatory as proof to avail the benefits of Atmanirbhar Gujarat Yojana, PAN card or ration card will also work


Aadhar card will no longer be mandatory as proof for financial assistance provided under Atmanirbhar Gujarat Yojana. Aadhar card, PAN card or ration card, any of these three proofs will be considered valid. The state government today clarified its position in court following a non-disclosure petition filed in the High Court on the issue of making Aadhaar card mandatory to avail the benefits of the scheme. The government submitted in the High Court that any of the three pieces of evidence would be considered valid. The court dismissed the public interest petition after recording the public prosecutor's statement.

69,484 people got loans in Atmanirbhar Yojana-1 and 43,316 people got loans in Yojana-2
The Chief Minister has announced this self-reliant Gujarat assistance scheme to rehabilitate small businesses, shopkeepers, street vendors, auto drivers and other artisans in the state. Of these, 69,484 people in Yojana-1 and 43,316 people in Yojana-2 have been able to get loan assistance. So the government is coming up with information that can extend the deadline for submission of forms.

No fee or charge, the form has to be submitted by 31st August

In this regard, Chief Minister's Secretary Ashwini Kumar said that such application forms can be obtained from about 1000 district co-operative bank branches, 1400 urban co-operative banks and more than 7000 credit co-operative societies across the state. To avail the benefits of this ambitious scheme, only the application form has to be filled and returned by 31st August. No other fees or charges will be levied for this purpose.

No installment is charged for the first 6 months of the loan
Under this scheme, loans up to Rs. 1 lakh for 3 years will be given to small entrepreneurs, artisans-employed persons up to 10 lakh persons at an interest rate of only 2%. He added that the loan would be given without any guarantee and at an interest rate of only 2 per cent. Not only that, no installment is charged for the first 6 months of the loan. The Chief Minister also appealed to the co-operative banks to provide such loans for a period of 3 years at 8% interest to the beneficiaries.
