Gujarat Government has announced the list of public holidays for the year 2021.  


 Gujarat Government has announced the list of public holidays for the year 2021.  The state's general administration department has announced a list of public holidays.  Next year there will be 22 days of various public holidays.  However, next year there are 7 public holidays coming up on Saturdays and Sundays.



 If we talk about these 7 public holidays, Mahavir Janma Kalyanak (25 April 2021, Sunday), Independence Day (15 August, Sunday), Raksha Bandhan (22 August, Sunday) and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Janmajayanti (31 October, Sunday) are the four public holidays.  Comes on Sunday.  As these four holidays fall on a Sunday, it is not included in the list of public holidays.  However, Saturday holidays are included in the list of 22 holidays.

While Gandhi Jayanti (October 2, Saturday), Bhaibeej (November 6, Saturday) and Christmas (December 25, Saturday) are the three public holidays that fall on Saturday.  The order will also apply to state government-owned board-corporations as well as panchayat employees.



 Besides, the Gujarat government has also announced 44 voluntary holidays.  It has not been declared as a voluntary holiday as eight holidays fall on Sunday.  Government employees will be able to enjoy a maximum of two discretionary holidays on festive occasions without religious restrictions of their choice.  For which the employee has to make a written application in advance and which will be allowed by the appropriate officer seeing the importance of government work.
