Preliminary preparations for a possible third wave of Corona
The Gujarat government has handed over the responsibility to 20 secretaries out of the advance preparations
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by CM Rupani

CM Rupani has made an important decision regarding the possible third wave of Kovid-19. In which advance planning has been done before the arrival of the third wave. Responsibilities have been handed over to the Senior Secretaries of State for complete arrangements for strengthening the health system and real time monitoring of beds etc. in the state hospitals. The Chief Minister convened a high-level meeting of the Core Committee with about 20 senior secretaries and gave clear instructions after lengthy deliberations and consultations to make all these arrangements fully operational in the next 3 months.

CM Rupani has entrusted the secretaries with the responsibility of planning ahead to fight the potential third wave. The operation is said to have started on a war footing from June 17. “We pray that the third wave will not come,” the chief minister said. But if it does, the death toll will not rise, the infected will get immediate treatment, the hospital will have adequate facilities including beds, medicine, oxygen and they will be equipped with a three-pronged strategy to recover quickly and complete the work plans timebound.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary K. Kailasanathan, Additional Chief Secretary to the Home Department, Pankaj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister M. That. Das, Additional Chief Secretary for Health Manoj Agarwal as well as secretaries of various departments who have been assigned responsibilities were all present.
