Why do students enroll in distance education?

They have childcare or eldercare obligations.

They cannot take time faraway from their current jobs to reinforce their future employment possibilities.

The program could also be offered at a location that's not feasible to attend for economic, cultural, or political reasons.

Consider the following:

How long has the institution been enrolling students during this program?

How often and thru what means is that the program and curriculum reviewed?

What is the typical length of your time it takes for a student to finish this program?

Where are you able to find evaluations of this program?

What sorts of employment do graduates of this program find?

Will this program be recognized in your home country or by employers?

The American education system offers an upscale field of choices for international students. there's such an array of faculties , programs and locations that the alternatives may overwhelm students, even those from the U.S. As you start your school search, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the American education system. Prior to education , American students attend primary and lyceum for a combined total of 12 years. These years are mentioned because the first through twelfth grades.

Around age six, U.S. children begin grade school , which is most ordinarily called “elementary school.” They attend five or six years then go onto lyceum .

Secondary school consists of two programs: the primary is “middle school” or “junior high school” and therefore the second program is “high school.” A diploma or certificate is awarded upon graduation from highschool . After graduating highschool (12th grade), U.S. students may continue to school or university. College or university study is understood as “higher education.”

Just like American students, you'll need to submit your academic transcripts as a part of your application for admission to college or college. Academic transcripts are official copies of your academic work. In the U.S. this includes your “grades” and “grade point average” (GPA), which are measurements of your academic achievement. Courses are commonly graded using percentages, which are converted into letter grades.

The grading system and GPA within the U.S. are often confusing, especially for international students. The interpretation of grades features a lot of variation. for instance , two students who attended different schools both submit their transcripts to an equivalent university. They both have 3.5 GPAs, but one student attended a mean highschool , while the opposite attended a prestigious school that was academically challenging. The university might interpret their GPAs differently because the 2 schools have dramatically different standards.
